About

I studied psychology for my A-levels and university degree, which included forensic and laboratory modules that focused on how evidence is gathered through biological and chemical means. Furthermore, my dissertation for my final year is a forensic study on jurors in court and how the statement 'beyond a reasonable doubt' affects how they interpret evidence and information to make a judgement. My psychology degree will be advantageous in the job as psychology focuses on the individual and analyses their behaviour and personality. Moreover, I have gained a Masters in Forensic Medical Sciences, which would be very useful for the job as I have gained knowledge in forensic backgrounds and how everything functions and is tested. Furthermore, for my thesis I analysed a skull in the Natural History Museum and learnt about all the different techniques of human identification and how to deal with human remains appropriately. During my spare time, I taken extra online forensic science courses and multiple Psychology courses to understand the subject better and increase my knowledge of how it is used in reallife settings. I have previously volunteered for a year at the mortuary in St Thomas' Hospital. It entailed participating in several routine adults and paediatric post-mortem examinations and paediatric forensic post-mortems to understand better how biology and chemistry are used when acquiring evidence for cases, how injuries are interpreted, and how a cause of death is determined. Moreover, this experience has allowed me to become accustomed to a mortuary environment and the people who work there. Furthermore, it is fascinating when attending court hearings and hearing how evidence is interpreted and the importance of evidence in determining a verdict. I am keen to learn the different methods of acquiring evidence through biological and chemical processes. The job combines literature and science well, which best balances our understanding. Literature is one of my strengths as I took an online creative writing course and published my short story in 2020, ' Not An Ordinary Day'. My current job as a Maternity Clinic Coordinator and my previous jobs as a Ward Clerk and Assistant Childminder have allowed to acquire important IT skills that would also be important and useful for the job
